Azure Cloud Architect (f/m/d)
Your responsibilities:
- Lead the design and architecture of our corporate-wide Azure platform
- Lead cloud adoption (at scale), including the stablishment of governance mechanisms, the delivery of migration projects, and the modification of I&O’s target operating model in collaboration with the infrastructure lead
- Create architectural designs to guide and contextualize solution development across products, services, projects, and systems, including applications, technologies, processes, and information on Microsoft Azure
- Manage and develop the architecture for a broader scope of projects and products, working closely with application consultants & engineers (e. g., bioinformaticians, CureVac's RNA printer) that manage and design architecture for a single project, product or initiative
- Design and implement technical solutions on Microsoft Azure
- Work closely with IT business partners and other IT functions to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle
- Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state), determine corresponding enterprise solution designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes
Your Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
- Several years of (technical) experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including technical or infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or cloud development
- Good understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies
- Capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks
- Ability to take account of technical and architectural debt
- Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmaps
- Knowledge of various backend development languages (Java, Go, Python), data-base technologies (MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle) and frontend web development languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- Knowledge of various aspects of a technology architecture like integration, network, and security
- Experience working with information principles and processes, as well as financial models and budgeting
- Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as waterfall, spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, and DevOps)
- Understanding and knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
- Extensive understanding of application development methodologies
- Great analytical, planning, organizational and technical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
