Associate Director (f/m/d) Licensing, Search and Evaluation

CureVac SE is a global biopharmaceutical company researching and developing novel drugs based on the natural molecule Messenger RNA (mRNA). Our focus is on prophylactic vaccines, innovative cancer immunotherapies and protein-based therapies. To strengthen our team in Europe, with preference either in Germany (Tübingen or Wiesbaden), Belgium (Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve), or Netherlands (Amsterdam) we are currently looking to recruit an

Associate Director (f/m/d) Licensing, Search and Evaluation

Your responsibilities:

• Screen, identify and evaluate technology collaboration opportunities with academic institutions, small and big biotech companies as well as big pharma companies 
• Draft, negotiate and conclude early-stage license agreements to broaden our platform technologies and to build CureVac´s pipeline
• Involvement in applying for grants and, subsequently, in consortia agreement negotiations
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders of pharma and biotech companies, governmental/non-governmental departments and academic institutions
• Manage the deal-making process and facilitate seamless cross-functional teamwork
• Provide thorough assessments to management and ensure efficient communication about status and next steps of the projects
• Work on several projects with tight timelines simultaneously and transparently

Your qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in natural sciences with knowledge of molecular biology or related disciplines; MBA is an advantage
• Several years of experience in the field and track record of completed transactions
• Experience with leading negotiations with academic tech transfer departments, biotech and pharma companies 
• Understanding of scientific, medical, regulatory and commercial aspects for executing license agreements
• Ability to quickly come to grips with new technologies and drug development strategies in a fast-changing environment
• In the face of obstacles or barriers, demonstration of creativity, persistence and resilience
• Capability to integrate complex technical and financial information that is comprehensible to all stakeholders
• Good understanding of the latest market trends and scientific advancements
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills paired with outstanding intercultural and interpersonal capabilities
• International experience is an advantage
• Fluency in English; German language skills are an asset
