Software Developer (f/m/d) Cancer Genomics
We are a leading organization in mRNA-based vaccine development. Our mission is to advance healthcare through innovative computational solutions. We are looking for a highly skilled Software Developer Cancer Genomics to join our team in Amsterdam focused, to work on the development, standardization and maintenance of bioinformatics pipelines and modules for vaccine design, impacting global health outcomes.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop production-grade bioinformatics pipelines using best practices, including CI/CD, collaborative development, and dependency management
- Standardize and maintain existing and future bioinformatics code bases related to NGS processing, statistical analysis, mathematical optimization, and machine learning
- Implement automated unit and integration tests to ensure code quality, reliability and delivery of high-quality code
- Participate in software validation in the context of CSV (computer system validation) and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines
- Use secure by design principles to develop and maintain software and systems
Your Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other relevant work experience
- Minimum of 3—5 years of experience working in professional software development and code maintenance using established standards and processes
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker and Azure Container Apps), unit testing frameworks and test-driven development
- Proficiency in scripting programming languages (Python, R); experience with low-level languages (C, Rust) is a plus
- Ideally experience with bioinformatics pipeline frameworks, especially Nextflow
- Excellent English communication capabilities
