Associate Director Public Relations (f/m/d)

Your responsibilities:

  • Main point of contact for all external media inquiries; build and maintain relationships with key media (reporters, editors, etc.)
  • Lead a Public Relations team
  • Take a proactive role in successfully communicating relevant news flow with external media as a representative and spokesperson for the company
  • Take a lead role in the preparation of press releases and interviews to promote the company in alignment with relevant internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate Public Relations activities with Investor Relations, Internal Communications and external firms, and organize Public Relations events (e.g., press conferences)
  • Collaborate and network with all levels of the organization, with the responsibility for creating and delivering clear, consistent and effective communications appropriate for targeted stakeholders across multiple channels
  • Support the development of corporate communications materials and content, and manage the creation of all marketing materials consistent with the corporate brand
  • Develop, track and maintain detailed communication project plans and content calendars/timelines to ensure successful and timely delivery of communications
  • Support the expansion of CureVac's social media presence by co-developing content for social media channels, maintaining a high standard for content quality to help building meaningful relationships with followers and other online community members
  • Track and review media-related metrics, and prepare regular reports for senior management
  • Manage external service providers such as PR agencies, graphic designers, website programmers, photographers, etc.

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required/Master's degree preferred in Journalism, Public Relations or Communications, alternatively a scientific background with a professional track record in communications
  • Several years of work experience in communications in a global/international organization; preferably in the pharma, biotech or life sciences sector
  • Documented network with German and/or international media, preferably specialized media (biotech/healthcare)
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor and inspire staff, and develop teams in a fast-growing environment
  • Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills, including copywriting across mediums; confidence to serve as a company spokesperson
  • High level of engagement, flexibility, creativity and ability to work independently
  • Hands-on character and entrepreneurial thinking
  • Excellent presentation skills in small and large group settings
  • Close attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Proven team player with confidence to take the lead and guide others
  • High proficiency in German and English
